Braiding & Plaits

Braids & plaits , there are hundreds of ways to braid and plaits hair. They are very functional and versatile. You can go as simple or intricate with them as you want and combine them with ponytails, buns or a host of other hairstyles to create your very own unique hair look.

Classic 3-Strand Braids

Brush out any knots and tangles in your hair before starting.
Divide your hair into 3 parts.
Bring the left section over the middle section.
Next, bring the right section over the middle section
Keep repeating by alternately flipping the left and right sections of hair over the middle section until you have braided till the end.
Secure the ends with a hair elastic.

French Braid

Brush out any knots and tangles in your hair before starting.
Take some hair from the front section and divide it into 3 sections.
Simply braid like the classic 3 strands braid
After that, add a small section of hair from outside the braid to each of the side strands before bringing it over to the middle strand of the braid.
Once you’ve run out of hair to add to it, simply braid the rest of the way down and secure the ends with a hair elastic.

Waterfall

From one side of your parting, take a small section of hair from the very front and divide it into 3 sections.
Do a simple 3 strand braid for the first one
Now, leave the bottom section and pick up a new section of hair from right next to it to bring over to the middle section. This will create a waterfall effect.
Add more hair from the top of your head to the top section before bringing it over to the middle section.
Keep repeating this process until the braid has reached the back of your head.
just finish it off with 3 strands braids

Fishtail Braids

Brush out all the knots and tangles.
Divide your hair into 2 equal sections.
Take a small section of hair from the outer side of the left section, bring it Over and add it to the inside of the right section of your hair.
Now, take a small section of hair from the outer side of the right section, Bring it over and add it to the inside of the left section of your hair.
Keep repeating until the end of your hair.
Secure the hair with an elastic.

Rope Braids

Brush out all the knots and tangles.
Divide your hair into 2 sections.
Twist the 2 sections individually in a clockwise direction till the very ends.
Intertwine these twisted sections with each other in an anticlockwise direction till the end.
Secure the ends with a hair elastic.

we were taught to different types of braid and how to create them. i enjoyed the lesson because I like my braiding and combining two style together to create a new unique style. the hair styles i create was okay but i need to practise to make it smooth and clean.
